On June 14-16, 2022, at the Minneapolis Convention Center, the Association for PRINT Technologies (APTech) and the Foil & Specialty Effects Association (FSEA) will team up to bring AMPLIFY, the first event of its kind that will focus solely on print embellishments. This three-day show will be an exhibition of significant contributors in the print and finishing industry and highlight the latest technologies available for printers, finishers, and designers.

Catching the consumer’s eye through embellishments and haptics creates brand awareness, resulting in larger profits for businesses. A study by the FSEA found that product packages embellished with foil stamping increased visual attention when compared with the same product without foil, and visual attention has a compelling impact on a customer’s decision to buy. Several studies report that printing embellishments and haptics drive considerable increases in response rates, brand awareness, trust, perceived valuebrand connection, and increased customer attention. Amplify will showcase the brands, products, and processes raising the standard for foil and coatings, die-cutting, folding and gluing, binding, direct mail, and more.

A pioneer in print and finishing of envelopes for direct mail, Parkland Direct is excited to attend the Amplify event to network with colleagues and stay on top of today’s latest technology and resources. “As a leading producer of large volume, enhanced envelopes that feature foiling, embossing, specialty coatings, and more, our company was thrilled to hear about the launching of the new Amplify event. Being the first show of its kind that focuses on print enhancements, this is a wonderful opportunity for designers, brands, and producers to come together and collaborate on all the new embellishments that can be offered with direct mail,” said Clint Seckman, President of Parkland.

Envelopes That Get Opened

Amplify will offer a direct mail track that will discuss FSEA’s white paper, “Transforming Direct Mail with Print Embellishments,” as well as a presentation by the Envelope Manufacturers Association (EMA) on how high-quality envelopes can make your direct mail campaigns stand out from the others. Parkland’s approach is precisely the same. We incorporate haptics and intensify our mailings by implementing specialty coatings, embossing, and foil to create intriguing, superior envelopes that get opened!

USPS TSI Promotion Offers a 4% Mail Discount

The United States Postal Service (USPS) recognizes the value of using bold techniques and treatments on mail pieces to increase response rates. Through the USPS Tactile, Sensory and Interactive (TSI) promotion, they will provide a 4% discount on postage when specialty inks, sensory treatments or interactive elements are included in mailings. This offer helps offset the cost of adding embellishments.
